We don’t yet know how much it will set you back; the older VPCL11S1E/S t came with Blu-ray reader, 4Gb of RAM, 500 Gb hard drive and a 3.0 GHz Intel® Core™2 Duo Processor E8400.
The new edition on other hand comes with Blu-ray burner, 6Gb of RAM, 1Tb hard drive and an Intel 2 Quad Core Processor. These are top of the range specs and make it astoundingly quick.
The screen won’t change, but that’s not a problem as the 24 inch Full HD X-black LCD gives you one of the best and sharpest pictures around. 1920 x 1080 pixel resolution makes it full HD and though it’s a computer reviewer’s cliché, it does really feel like you’re in the film.
Secondly, with the 64-bit edition of Windows 7, the L117FX/B is touch enabled. Touch screens can seem like a bit of a gimmick at first, and they do take a while to get used to, but once you’re up to speed with scrolling, dragging and dropping you’ll never go back.
Just make sure you’ve washed your hands first. Grubby handprints will detract from the look.
The single power cord keeps the whole package clutter free. It’s also quite svelte for its size, measuring 43 cm (h) x 58 cm (w) x 19 cm (d), and weighing only 12.5 kg. You can also tuck the keyboard away under the monitor to keep things tidy.
There is a good selection of interfaces – 5 USBs, a multi-card reader, WiFi and Bluetooth and all importantly an HDMI socket. The latter will allow you to hook up your PS3.
Playing Call of Duty in this way may however result in shell shock.

The specs, the design,
What I don’t like about the Sony Vaio L Series
The fact that I can’t get it now.
Summary of the Sony Vaio L Series
We can’t comment on the price yet so we’re just going to have to go on specs alone, and by God they’re good. It’s fast, responsive and there is a tonne of storage. It’s a winner.
