This netbook is the ferrari of computers, literally! Acer and Ferrari have continued their remarkable partnership with the Acer Ferrari One, a dependable PC for people who live life in the fast lane.

From the striking shiny red lid to the Cavallino Rampante emblem, this laptop exudes style and class, and you’ll find plenty under the hood to keep you going at full speed.

What I like about the Acer Ferrari One

First and foremost it’s got to be the look of the machine; with Ferrari it’s all about the look. This little red beauty is a machine you will want to show off around town, sitting in coffee shops or working on the train, you’ll be glowing with pride.

Now down to the practicalities. This netbook is the very first of its kind to have a dual-core processor, the AMD Athlon X2 L310, making it one of the fastest netbooks around.

The 11.6-inch diagonal screen with its 1,366 x 768 pixel resolution provides a sharp and bright viewing experience, impressive for a netbook.  For the ultimate video experience the Ferrari also has Dolby®-optimised surround sound from a pair of built-in stereo speakers.

In addition, this netbook has great connectivity options, sporting the Acer EasyPort IV, an ExpressCard™/34 slot, 3 USB ports and a 5-in-1 card reader.

What I don’t like about the Acer Ferrari One

Unfortunately this PC isn’t perfect. Its battery life is disappointing, barely lasting 5 hours. In additon this netbook is slightly larger than most; this could have been forgiven had it not also been heavier, weighing in at 1.5kg.

Summary of the Acer Ferrari One

This is a stylish and speedy little netbook with some very impressive features, including its ATI 3D graphics technology and LCD screen but its performance is slowed down by its battery life. It is a good buy for those who want a fast performing ultraportable (and for Ferrari fans obviously).
